The dangle saw is pinned to the boom by a knuckle which allows the head to rotator.  The head hangs vertically from the boom till the tree is cut.  The tree then pulls the head horizontal as it is falling.  Ryan’s dangle saw has hydraulic cylinder to control the speed of the fall.
